Nocturne is a night time arts festival bringing light and colour to the streets of Halifax in October. In Halifax between 6 PM and midnight, the city’s streets come alive with art and energy! Nocturne celebrates the dynamic and exciting arts community here in Halifax, bringing together visual and performing arts with street-level accessibility. It was inspired by the success and popularity of similar late-night arts festivals occurring all over the world; most notably, events like “Nuit Blanche” in cities like Paris, Montreal and Toronto.

The intention of the event is to encourage attendees to experience a variety of exhibitions and installations in one evening. An event program and map is available for attendees. The overall spirit of the event will excite and intrigue visitors and introduce them to the vibrant arts community that calls Halifax home.

Inspired by this opportunity, Wanda organized her own exhibit for the night at the Flower Studio Art Inc. located at the Halifax Historic Properties Privateers Wharf site. Her presentation was titled: ‘Szubielski Studio - Protecting Nova Scotia’s Shorelines an Abstract Perspective’. She deeply hopes that her artwork will open up peoples’ minds to the importance of preserving the natural beauty of our coastlines. For more information about ‘Nocturne’, check out the this website.
